Deontay Wilder has labelled Dillian Whyte a ‘poodle’ in response to being called a ‘coward’ by his mandatory challenger.
As things stand, America’s WBC heavyweight champion does not have to face the Brixton man until February 2021 and has two bouts with Tyson Fury lined up first.

Regardless, ‘interim’ champion Whyte continues to pursue the fight and has recently referred to Wilder as a ‘coward’ in multiple interviews and on social media.
In response, Wilder told ThaBoxingVoice: “Every poodle has his day. With a poodle, they’re not dangerous at all so they’re mostly off their leash.
“We gonna let him stay off his leash for a little bit and let the poodle continue to bark, do what he do and try to steal clout.
“No-one cares about Dillian Whyte. Dillian Whyte is definitely not important in my life at this moment in time, but when that time comes, be careful what you ask for.”
Wilder, who previously destroyed mandatory challengers Bermane Stiverne and Dominic Breazeale within one round each, added: “I love mandatories, they’re like flies in my ear and I get rid of them when the time comes.
“When that time comes, and I think that time will come, especially if he keeps winning, just continue to pick the safe fights.
“Pick the safe f***ing fights because that’s what you guys do over there, you pick safe fights and you wanna call my name out and call me a coward.
“No-one in the world will believe that I’m a coward, I’m the baddest man on the planet, I’m the hardest-hitting puncher in boxing history, period.“
